(1) Who can take part in the Schaeffler Engineering Challenge?
Anyone who is over 18 years of age, is good at answering technical questions and
can solve brainteasers in English is eligible to take part. Employees of LuK GmbH
& Co. oHG, Schaeffler KG and all their subsidiaries are, however, ineligible.
(2) When and how will the winners be announced?
The winners will be informed by the Schaeffler Group via e-mail approximately 2-4
weeks after the end of the Engineering Challenge.
(3) What are the rules?
The exact rules can be found at:
Rules
(4) How must the questions be answered?
The main challenge consists of ten questions that become increasingly difficult
as you progress. The first nine are multiple choice questions, while the tenth question
is open-ended. The weekly challenge questions are all multiple choice.
(5) What happens when I answer a question incorrectly?
In the main challenge, a wrong answer means you are eliminated from the competition.
You should therefore think your answers through carefully and possibly research
them. If participants answer a question incorrectly in the weekly challenge, they
will not receive any points for that week. However, they can still answer the following
week's question.
(6) Is there a time limit for answering the questions?
No. A question remains open to participants until they have answered it. Apart from
the deadline for entries, there isn't any time limit. In the weekly challenge, participants
have one week to answer the question and then it is time to answer the next question.
(7) What happens if I log out before answering the question?
You can log out at any time. The next time you log in, you will be shown the same
question again, which you can then answer.
(8) Can the last answer (free text answer) contain graphics?
Yes, it is possible to upload graphics to explain and/or expand upon the answer.
(9) When do I have a chance to win?
Every participant who sends in an answer to question 10 (free text answer) has a
chance of winning the main prize.
(10) What is the difference between the main challenge and the weekly challenge?
The main challenge consists of ten questions that become increasingly difficult
as you progress. The correct answer to the tenth question enters you into the prize
draw. When participants answer a question incorrectly, they are eliminated from
the competition and must wait for the next Schaeffler Engineering Challenge. In
the weekly challenge, participants have one question a week to answer. For each
correct answer, points are credited to the user's account. If a question is answered
incorrectly, participants do not receive any points but can try again the next week.
(11) How long does the main challenge last?
The second Schaeffler Engineering Challenge runs from 18 May 2009 until 19 July 2009. The entry deadline for the last answer is therefore 19 July 2009.
(12) Is it possible that a question has more than one correct answer?
Yes. Usually, the question will indicate whether one or more correct answers are possible. In questions that have more than one correct answer, ALL correct answers must be marked. If all the correct answers are not marked, the question is considered to be answered incorrectly.
(13) Why do I have to provide my e-mail address when I register?
We need your e-mail address in order to send you the confirmation code. You must click on this confirmation code before your registration for the Schaeffler Engineering Challenge can be activated.
In addition, the winners will be informed via e-mail to the e-mail address provided.
(14) What can I win by taking part in the Schaeffler Engineering Challenge?
